GREG PRINCE
A native of Norwich, VT, Greg opened his own business from scratch as a young professional in the Green Mountain State, where he operated for 12 yrs. He made a name for himself breaking young horses and training riders while himself competing throughout Canada. After joining forces with Cookie DeSimone in the late 90s he has successfully competed throughout the East Coast in the hunter & jumper divisions. With Curtain Bluff Greg was a ribbon winner in the 1st/2nd Yr Greens at Devon, Harrisburg & Washington. Greg has competed in the Grand Prix during the HITS Ocala circuit, the Vermont Summer Horse Shows & the Fidelity Classic on Moxie & Poetic Justice. He continues to import horses from Europe and enjoys matching horses with riders. Greg has been featured in Horse ChannelIllustrated, Horse Channel.com & the Equine Journal.
KYLA MAKHLOGHI
Kyla, a Vermont native, joined the WRF team in 2006. After a successful junior career as a catch rider she later turned her love of horses into a profession, as a trainer & assistant barn manager of West Hill Farm in Putney, VT, for 4 yrs. After returning to academia Kyla was a member of the Zone, Regional & National IHSA Champion Mt. Holyoke College team
and was the 2005 Cacchione Cup Res. Champion. As a member of the WRF team she has won several tricolors in both the hunter & jumper rings at shows including HITS Ocala Winter Circuit and the Vermont Summer Festival.
SARAH SUMMERS
Sarah grew up in Southeast Asia and began her riding career at Arthayasa Stables in Indonesia. While a boarding student at the Dana Hall School she became a student of Cookie DeSimone's. She continued her education at Tufts University and captained the Tufts Equestrian Team her junior and senior years there. After graduation Sarah returned to Dana Hall as an instructor & member of the barn staff and subsequently was promoted to Director of the Riding Center. In addition to teaching & coaching the Dana Hall Equestrian Team with Cookie, she also coaches Dana Hall riders at the horse shows along with the Woodridge Farm team. Her young Dana Hall prodigies captured the 2008 IEA National Championships in the middle school division.
One of the the most respected horsewomen in New England, Christine 'Cookie' DeSimone's love of horses began as a child when she would trek each day to see the horses at the Dana Hall school, where consequently she has taught riding for the past 35 years, including the 2008 IEA Middle School National Champions. Cookie has produced countless champions in the hunter, jumper & equitation divisions over her career. Her juniors have qualified for the Medal, Maclay & USET finals, as well as the NAYRC-North American Young Riders Championships. Along with Greg Prince she is the head trainer and co-owner of Woodridge Farm, and is also a co-chairwoman of the New England Equitation Committee.
